2/29/2024 0 Comments New record in view zapier airtableWe don’t need the automation triggered every single time the record is updated we just need the automation triggered whenever the record re-appears in a particular view. Meanwhile, It looks like will trigger an action EVERY SINGLE TIME a record is UPDATED (which is a great step in the right direction!), but it doesn’t look like it can monitor just one particular view in Airtable. Simplify your product management tasks and get more time to focus on growing your business. We actually need the ability for an automated action to trigger EVERY SINGLE TIME a record re-appears in the view, whether or not the record has appeared in that view in the past. When a new record appears in your Airtable view, this workflow will automatically create a product or service in Wave, ensuring your financial records stay up-to-date. However, if a record falls off the view - and then that very same record returns to the view at a later date - it WON’T trigger the Zapier action again. If you’d like to hire an expert Airtable consultant to help you with any of this, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consulting - ScottWorldAirtable’s Zapier action “New Record in View” will ONLY trigger if a record appears in the view for the VERY FIRST TIME. This is because, without a find action, Zapier doesn’t have any way of knowing which record needs to be updated. In nearly all cases, the record to be updated must have been specified by a previousFind record action. There is a small learning curve with Make, which is why I created this basic navigation video to help. This action updates the values of specified cells in a specified Airtable record. You can do the exact same thing that I mentioned above with Make, and you can also trigger it with a script instead of a button. Zaps only trigger once per new record in view Airtable- any thoughts on a workaround 4 years ago 5 replies 1305 views Userlevel 7 +12 Danvers Zapier Staff 3731 replies I use the Airtable new record in view trigger for a few different Zaps and it's frustrating that Zaps will only trigger the first time a record enters that view. Just set up this integration so that, as soon as an Airtable record is created or updated, a custom Slack message is automatically sent to a specified channel. Make sure your team is on top of updates to your data, without getting bogged down in manual messages. One of the big limitations for Airtable users who are trying to use Zapier is that we only have 2 triggers: New Record and New Record In View. Optionally: triggers when any record (new or existing) is first added to a selected view. Manage your document workflows without having to leave your Airtable interface When this happens. I’ve written an entire post here about Make vs. Send Slack notifications for new or updated records in Airtable. This integration automatically creates signature requests in DocuSign from new records in view in Airtable. Find Many Records (With Line Item Support) Finds multiple rows (10 max) using Airtables search syntax. Make is infinitely more powerful & flexible & customizable than Zapier, and it is also significantly cheaper as well. Create a new record or update an existing record in your app. However, I strongly recommend using Make instead of Zapier. (You can also add in extra parameters if you’d like, but those are unnecessary as well.) Just add the Record ID of the record as a parameter to the end of the webhook URL, and then have Zapier find the record based on its ID. When a new record appears in Airtable, it will prompt an update in Tables by Zapier in real-time. Your button can just trigger the webhook URL on its own. This action creates a new record in a specified table in a specified base, and populates the new record with data from the trigger app. This could be Google Sheets, Gmail, Slack, etc. Airtable Action: If the app you need isn’t available within Airtable’s automations, you can choose one that works for you as a trigger in a Zap. You could use a script, but it’s unnecessary. After that we don’t consider it a new record in the view, having seen it there before.
